  • Muskoka Fire Danger Rating season has started
  • Please check with the By-law department on any open-air burning regulations and restrictions
For all ratings from April 1 to October 31:
  • No daytime burning from 8am-6pm
  • Burning permitted after 6pm, providing a total fire ban is not in place
  • Includes fire pits, clay and metal containers

Rating definitions
Low
  • Campfires for cooking and heat only
Moderate
  • Fires for cooking and heat when there are no other sources
  • Extra care is required for all burning
High
  • Avoid campfires
  • Use extreme caution with all fires
Extreme
  • Total fire ban
  • No burning at any time
  • Includes charcoal BBQs
  • Fireworks are banned

  • Emergencies 9-1-1 which include out-of-control burning
