FLA Minutes of Board Meeting October 9, 2011

Robin reviewed July 31, 2011 minutes. Accepted as written.
-advised Jim Watson has stepped down as director of FLA,
but is staying on as past president.
-Mary Smirniw has volunteered to become MEMBERSHIP CHAIR
, duties to encompass new owners package distribution and welcome committee
organization. She will coordinate with Elaine to obtain full detail of responsibilities.

ACCEPTED
NEWSLETTER..we need to find someone to take over this
responsibility, Robin will handle for now. Advise him of anything that needs
to be in the fall issue.
DONATION put in newsletter we’re looking for donations for silent
auction
TREASURER..Jim reported $7452.79 in account, no
outstanding issues. Successful mailing resulted in
payment of 8 more member renewals.
ROMUVA ..All eyes to try and prevent further break-ins
and vandalism
LAKE PLAN IMPLEMENTATION..Still on action plan, work to
get our lake plan on the Huntsville Official Plan. The mayor has a copy given to
him last year. Digital format is available to distribute at no cost, rather than printing.
BOAT LAUNCHES…The Bruce’s are concerned that property
owner across the road from them will clear the road allowance. He has indicated
he’s selling his property and wants to advertise it as lake accessible. This is
undeveloped land under purview of Huntsville Parks Dept and is owned by the
town. May be ongoing concern and we have to stay in touch with council on this.
Either way we need to put in writing to establish a paper trail link…Town also
owns two other properties on the lake…#91 near the tail and another on the west
side taken for unpaid taxes.
