A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Hello and Happy Spring!
I am delighted to be writing a message in this newsletter, especially because we are inviting people to in-person Fox Lake Association activities after two and half years of physical distancing.
I hope you have been able to keep in contact with your friends and neighbours around the lake during this long pandemic and that this summer we will be able to see each other more often and to meet new folks who have recently joined our lake community
You will find information throughout this newsletter about the Fox Lake Annual General Meeting, Annual Regatta and Annual Corn Roast. These three events provide opportunities each year for us to discuss issues concerning the lake community and to socialize with each other. Everyone around the lake is welcome, including family members and guests of residents.
Next year, 2023, will be the 50th Anniversary of the Fox Lake Regatta and we plan to hold special Golden Anniversary Regatta events to mark the occasion.
Congratulations to the FLA’s Lake Steward, David White, who received an award from the Muskoka Watershed Council this spring for his lake stewardship activities. I extend our appreciation to David for his 16 years of service in this role.
I would also like to thank everyone who completed the FLA Survey – a summary of survey results is included later in this newsletter.
The FLA relies on volunteers to organize social activities for our lake community and to perform other duties related to education and advocacy. If you would like to get involved, or to help out in any way, please get in touch with any member of the FLA Executive.
Wishing everyone a safe, healthy and happy summer season!!
Sincerely, Alix Yule
FLA President
